De Waterkant

De Waterkant Accommodation Napier Street Cape Town

In December the Mother City hosts the Mother City Queer project once again.

Accommodations will no doubt be full again with revelers enjoying themselves in the pink triangle area of De Waterkant .

It is relatively obvious why Napier Street host Bronx a well know nightclub where girls won’t get their bums pinched because most of the guys are queers and they serve only as “eye candy”, (even some straight guys would even look twice at ), but won’t hit on the girls who they can dance with until dawn.

This area is filled with excellent overnight, luxury and B&B or self catering accommodation, quaint cafés and looks just like one is on Paris Café society.

De Waterkant has a number of cobbled streets and old buildings some over 300 years of age.

Nestled in between al this is the Village lodge in De Waterkant it is easy to find at 49 Napier Street and is two away from Somerset Road. three away from Buitengracht adjacent to Jarvis and Loader and Waterkant Streets. This area is called the De Waterkant and sometimes know as the pink Triangle and is not far from the Bo-Kaap and Malay Quarter over the road from Strand/High-level road, this area forms the hub of travelers accommodation “Old world” in Cape Town .

De Waterant is easy to reach from Cape Town International Airport and within easy walking distance from the CTICC Cape Town International Convention Centre and forms the lower district of the Central Business District .Currently the Central Business District is also undergoing a lot of changes due to old surrounding warehouse spaces becoming more modern accommodation and residential places often with street level corner cafés and unusual shops with antiques or African cuisine or artifacts.

Museums are multiple and offer a lot of types of interest like Gold & Diamond jewelry and historic Cape Living or Natural history

If you are a bit lazy to walk a number of taxis are now also available and some are even mimics of the London Taxis. A healthy supply of shuttle service and rental car services exist and even tour guides can be obtained fro the travel and tourism directory services listings and Cape Town is a marvelous place to start a journey in the other venues and destinations which if in the Cape Western or Eastern regions’ of South Africa will be malaria free.

So “indulge”, is all one can really say about Cape Town now days.

An example, randomly taken of the type of accommodation one can find is one such place has all the now accepted trimmings, direct dial international telephone access, satellite TV ,wireless internet access, air conditioning and heating, panoramic rooftop views of Cape Town and Table Mountain luxury en-suite bedrooms, a multitude of classic cuisines and restaurants catering for all types of taste either at the V&A Waterfront or within walking distance of the lodges and in the Cape Quarter
